According to the Chicago Business Journal, this could be the perfect time buy a new home in the Chicago area!
The S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, which tracks home prices in the 20 largest markets around the country, indicates that Chicago homes have risen only 2 percent in the past year, which is the smallest increase of all 20 markets. That compares with a national average hike of 5.3 percent.
From October to November, home prices fell 0.7 percent in Chicago, compared with a 0.1 percent gain in the entire country. From September to October, they fell another 0.8 percent, compared with another .01 percent gain in the rest of the country.
