June 2017 Deerfield Events You Don’t Want to Miss
Summer is here, and so are the community events that make Deerfield so special. There’s something for everyone on the Deerfield social calendar in June 2017, so be sure to get out and enjoy everything this beautiful community has to offer. Here are just a few suggestions to get you started:
14th Annual Deerfield Fine Arts Festival
Grab your favorite group of people and head out to the Deerfield Fine Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 3rd and 4th. You’ll have an opportunity to enjoy the work of select local artists representing a variety of media, such as jewelry, sculpting, painting, photography, and more. There will be live music, food, kid-friendly activities, and more. Parking and entry are free to the public, and event hours are 10am to 5pm on both days.

Tinman Triathlon
Also on June 3rd is the Tinman Triathlon. Whether this is your first or fiftieth triathlon, you can be sure that this activity will be both challenging and rewarding for athletes at all skill levels. It involves a 300 meter swim, 6 miles of biking, and 3 miles of running, and it will also be a blast for anyone who simply wishes to spectate.

District 109 Family Night
June 14th will be filled with plenty of fun in the sun as Mitchell Park pool will be opened exclusively to students of school district 109 and their families. The event fee is $3 per participant, and be sure to bring a bit of extra cash, because concessions will be open! The event runs from 7:30pm until 10:30pm. Deerfield’s Summer Sampler at Mitchell Park
The Summer Sampler music series is fast becoming a summertime staple for anyone who lives in or around Deerfield, IL. Every summer, this live music series features a variety of artists who come out to Mitchell Park and perform between 5:00pm and 6:30pm every Sunday. End your weekend on a high note with the Summer Sampler! Here is what they have scheduled for us in June 2017:
- June 18 – Uptown 6, playing hits from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s
- June 25 – Final Say, offering a variety of your favorite pop and rock hits
The series run every Sunday until about mid-August, so be sure to check out the lineup for the rest of the summer, as well.
Art in the Park
Head over to Jewett Park on June 24th for Art in the Park, hosted by the team at Hot Shots Sports. This event is free to the public and will feature a group art activity, followed by your choice of pickup sports games. All materials and equipment will be included, so just bring yourself!
