In case you missed this culinary invasion last year, Little Beet Table, the “smart food” restaurant from NYC, is coming back to Chi-town for another chance to delight all with their delicious creations.  The restaurant plans to make a home in Gold Coast, and we are positive that it will find success among neighborhood residents and visitors alike. Before you stop by for some delicious and healthy American fare, here’s what you need to know about Little Beet Table:

The founder of Little Beet Table found a successful niche in New York among those who prefer a clean farm-to-table approach that promotes a heavy focus on veggies.  Chef and partner, Franklin Becker, who you may recognize from season five of “Top Chef Masters,” believes that Chicago is ready for something innovative that counters the traditional steakhouse experience, in favor of a lighter, healthier and more hip vibe.    

The restaurant will be located in the bottom of the recently completed State and Chestnut residential Tower.  Little Beet Table offers a comfortable atmosphere with a very innovative, vegetable-forward menu of fresh, delicious and thoughtful whole food choices. The menu is perfect for any occasion.  So, whether it’s a business lunch meeting, after work drinks, or a memorable dining experience to mark a special occasion, the Little Beet team is ready to take care of you.  

Little Beet Table’s mission is to make healthy and satisfying food accessible to everyone.  Since 2014, they have taken a local and conscientious approach toward a dedicated, vegetable-forward menu paired with a relaxed dining atmosphere. Their featured “smart foods” include such treats as sweet pea guacamole, Japanese pumpkin soup, a seared fjord salmon, roasted autumn squash and quinoa, black sea bass and more. Though this is in contrast to Chicago’s traditional, heavier tastes of filling up on things like red meats and comfort foods, when you eat at the Little Beet Table, you’ll feel full, but light.  And, you’ll have the comfort in knowing that you’re full of delicious vitamins and nutrients.  

But don’t worry, it’s not all just greens and gourds.  For those looking for something more hearty, there are still things like a double burger, chipotle pork carnitas tacos, and an angus ribeye, among other meat lover options on the menu.
